DO THE INSCAPE MEET REAL WORLD NEEDS?
Everything we do helps to ensure a successful career for you when you graduate.
All the courses are career-oriented.
We regularly consult with industry experts to ensure that we meet market needs.
Our lecturers are experienced and successful practitioners who enjoy teaching as much as they do working. They are more like tutors, working with and guiding students rather than lecturing to them.
Design students work on real projects and true-to-life projects given by and marked by real designers. And in-service training forms a key part of the course.
The design courses also include business management for those with a entrepreneurial spirit who want to start their own business when they graduate.
Inscape was also the first design college in South Africa to make computer graphics and CAD a standard part of the Design Diploma course.
HOW DO THE CLASSES WORK?
Everyone knows that our small classes with individualised attention, contribute to the high standard of our students' work.
Inscape Design College believes that people perform best when they are happy. So our premises have been chosen for their homely atmosphere where even those with serious social lives enjoy learning.
Design students attend lecture sessions each weekday. Sixteen to twenty hours a week is also spent in unsupervised practical and research work.
Draughting and Decorating students attend two lecture sessions per week. Six to eight hours a week is spent in unsupervised practical and research work.
Our calendar is similar to that of the Department of Education.
DO INSCAPE STUDENTS GET LAPTOP COMPUTERS?
Yes, it is true. Inscape turned 25 last year.
And we celebrated two and a half decades of excellence in design education by subsidising our design students' Pentium and iBook notebooks computers.
As a pioneer in digital innovation, Inscape was the first design college in South Africa to make computer graphics and CAD a standard part of their Design courses.
And now we are the first to help our design students to get their own notebook computers.
