Country Club in Waterkloof
Pretoria Country Club
Founded in 1910, the Pretoria Country Club nestles in the scenic beauty of Waterkloof, one of the city’s most prestigious suburbs.
Over the years it became a landmark in Pretoria.
It is renowned as the quality sports and social venue set in magnificent surroundings.
Steeped in tradition, this club offers its members a variety of facilities in a secure environment.
The Pretoria Country Club's golf course was redesigned and built by the Gary Player Group during the latter part of 2004.
The official opening took place on 22 January 2005 with Mr Gary Player teeing the first official ball. The new design is unique due to the fact that all the bunkers on the course are pot bunkers with geotextile facings creating a stern test in bunker play.
Furthermore, all existing water hazards were redesigned as well as creating new water hazards which all have a natural feel.

The Pretoria Country Club bowls section was established in 1942.
Our objectives for 2007 are:
* to increase the membership of the bowls section
* maintain a high level of active members
* to improve the quality and condition of the greens within an allocated budget
* increase participation in Sunday Bowls
* improve competitiveness without undermining social camaraderie and the spirit of the club
* to increase the profile of championship events
The Lorna Ellis Pavilion, the PCC club house, is situated between the two bowling greens in one of the most picturesque sites one can imagine. It has its own bar and kitchen facilities and becomes a social buzz after a game of bowls. Floodlights are scheduled to be installed in March 2007 which will present an opportunity for new and existing bowlers to enjoy evening games after work.
Regular social games are arranged on normal days of play. On National we participate in The SA Eagles Men & Women Nationals. Within the district we participate in the Bowls Gauteng North annual ladies’ and men’s league, Men’s Black & White tournament and Women’s Spar Classic. We compete in interclub competitions against Bryanston Country Club, Country Club Johannesburg and Irene Country Club on an annual basis.
Local annual interclub events include the Lorna Ellis Nomination Rinks and Good Companion’s Day. Club events include annual club championships in various categories, Biltong Trip Days, Teaspoon Trip Days, Captain versus Captain, Silver versus Gold and Bring & Braai Days on public holidays.
