The Farm Inn is a privately owned country hotel on the Eastern outskirts of Pretoria,
only 20 minutes from Pretoria's Church Square, 50 minutes from Johannesburg and 45mins from Johannesburg International Airport.


The Farm Inn is a spread of thatched complexes and individual buildings, built from natural rock, mortar, logs and railway sleepers, combined with beautiful floral prints and solid wooden furniture. Restful thatch and natural airflow combine to ensure that the rooms are warm in winter and cool in summer. All rooms are en-suite and have ceiling fans and many of the rooms have fireplaces and private balconies.

Each complex is different, offering different types of accommodation, from luxury suites, through family rooms to individual rooms. The acres of lush green sanctuary allow the (non carnivore) game, to graze right up to your suite.


The a la carte restaurant offers superb cuisine created by our expert chefs, with wines from the ample cellar. Or you can enjoy the magic of the southern night sky and traditional meals in the African boma (group bookings), around a crackling fire.

Every Sunday there is a scrumptious buffet lunch, where you can normally view our lion cubs which are normally on view at the main hotel every weekend.

There is a Swimming Pool available for in-house guests (not heated) and there is a jungle gym for the children situated in the Tea garden area.

Weddings and Functions

The farm Inn offers the ideal venue for you function in tranquil surroundings.

From the most unique venues of various shapes and sizes, to the superb traditional South-African cuisine and hospitality offered at the Farm Inn, this most important function will become a special memory.

The Hotel offers you and your guests an occasion which will live up to all your expectations. In order for us to cater for all your requirements, we have designed various options from which to choose and we invite you to peruse these options listed and will advise you accordingly.

Many of our customers stay with us again and again and our reputation is spreading overseas. We are close to the Menlyn Park shopping and entertainment centre and next door to the Silverlakes Golf Club. Plans for the future include a full safari park with all the Big 5, a larger pool and tennis courts.

Farm Inn Rooms

The varieties of 84 rooms are all individually decorated, all with bathroom en suite and some with an open log fireplace. Most of the rooms lead directly onto the tranquil gardens and others have their own private veranda or balcony.
Our 14 Conference venues are available for groups between 3 - 200 delegates.
Our Unique African boma's are available for groups between 25 - 250 delegates


The Farm Inn has grown over the years to its current size - the original 21 hectares has been increased in stages to 108 hectares. There are now 84 bedrooms, 13 function rooms and 2 chapels for weddings; the a la carte restaurant, breakfast room, 3 bomas and the 'bosberaad' conference venue compliment the superb bedrooms, suites and cottages. Every part of the Farm Inn has its own bit of history, from the original farmhouse to the lion camp.

A refurbishing program is constantly in action to upgrade and improve the Farm Inn's facilities and the emphasis is on making the Hotel wheelchair friendly.

There are over 100 staff employed at the Farm Inn, with extra staff brought in for functions and conferences. Pedro and Rose have a 'hands on' approach and involve themselves in every aspect of the Hotel. Rose ensures that all the housekeeping issues run smoothly whilst Pedro is always available for discussion about the history of the Hotel and particularly his passion, the wildlife program.

Currently there are 16 species of game to see, as well as a wide variety of bird species. Game drives are offered in large or small groups and Pedro will shortly be introducing 'lion walks' with experienced rangers

The Farm Inn is fully walled and fenced to ensure a secure and comfortable stay and there is ample shade parking. An ongoing building program ensures constant upgrading and improvement of the facilities.
