TLAMOHA COLLEGE EDUCATION AND TRAINING
COLLEGE IN JOHANNESBURG
Tlamoha Technical College, hereinafter referred to as Tlamoha College was among the last Technical Colleges to be built after the belated decision by the previous government to extend vocational education to Black people.
The College started operating in the Kwa-Thema Technical Centre, in the year 1982. From those early humble beginnings, the College expanded. This expansion was to be limited by the paucity of physical and other resources. Consequently, the College could only admit a very small proportion of the applications it received.
In the year 1991, Tlamoha College moved to the new building in Sam Ngema Drive, Kwa-Thema. The new buildings enabled the College to increase its student intake by more than 300%. The excitement about the expansion that the College was undergoing soon became short-lived when it became clear that even with the new buildings the college was still unable to stretch itself well enough to meet the bulging demand for skill-based education in the community.
At the moment the College is exploring several options to extend its accessibility and impact in the community, among which options are afternoon, evening and Saturday classes.
Whilst the students at the College are currently exclusively African, the College has a mixed staff compliment which is fairly representative of the South African population - a heritage we are grateful for, and would like to exploit to the benefit of our students, institution and community.
At Tlamoha College we strive to keep abreast of developments in the field of education and training. We are driven by the desire to ensure that the sun does not set on the future of our country's youth.
In this prospectus we present quality vocational training, and education that is second to none! And a College that is second to none!
Indeed, when we say…
"Quality Vocational Education Need Not Cost a Fortune…"
You'd better believe us, after all we're in it for our dear lives!
